In a commendable effort to uplift educational standards and support underprivileged students, SCOT, in collaboration with Sri Lanka Law College, organized a CSR initiative at Siri Gunarathana Vidyalaya in Agalawatta. The project, titled “Senehase Piyaman”, which translates to “The Journey of Kindness”, was designed to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the academic lives of the students and the school community.
Through this initiative, SCOT focused on multiple areas critical to creating a conducive learning environment. Essential educational materials were distributed to students, helping to ease the financial burden on families and ensure that every child had access to the tools necessary for their academic journey. Furthermore, significant improvements were made to the school’s physical infrastructure, creating a safer, more functional space for both learning and teaching.
One of the most transformative aspects of the project was the establishment of a fully equipped library. This new facility serves not only as a resource hub for students to expand their knowledge and develop a love for reading, but also as a symbol of opportunity, offering a space that encourages intellectual curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning.
The project is a clear reflection of SCOT’s unwavering dedication to social responsibility and its belief in the transformative power of education. By investing in the academic environment and resources of Siri Gunarathana Vidyalaya, SCOT reaffirms its commitment to nurturing a brighter, more equitable future for the next generation.
